Honey Bunches of Oats has always been a favorite in our house, and now even more so since they added crispy mango flavored flakes combined with for real flakes of coconut shavings, and coconut flavored granola clusters in NEW Honey Bunches of Oats Tropical Blends. Now having nine grandchildren I get a lot of kids running in an out looking for snacks or when they stay over-night and they’re watching cartoons do you want to give them candy, chips or some other junk food? Not I! I offer them Honey Bunches of Oats and they love it. What kind of face do you think I’ll get when I offer them this special Tropical blend of Honey Bunches of Oats? How about this one?
Oh yes, this cutie loves them and so will her older sisters. Now before we go any further you ladies that are eating differently… well, here’s a treat for you! ONLY 120 Calories & with skim milk it’s only 160 calories. Come on now, you know breakfast is the most important meal of the day! Now I’ve been on one of those Six (6) meals a day things, and I have had a small bowl of these as my extra meal for variety. Mmmmm I feel so guilty though. Calories from fat: ONLY 20! No cholestrol and Sodium (I likes this part) only 135mg that’s not too shabby, and sugar is only 6g… and it has Vitamin D and Iron too mention a few; how about that?
They have a great line up too. Fruit Blends such as Blueberry, Raspberry, Strawberries, Honey Roasted, Vanilla Bunches, Cinnamon Bunches, Just Bunches, Greek, Almonds, and all you Peach fans sorry, the Peach blend has been discontinued. Not enough Peach fans I guess., and here’s one for you at their website honeybunchesofoats.com they even have recipes that you can make using the cereal like for example Paw cookies, Crunchy chicken dippers and here’s my favorite:
Mixed Berry Morning Sundae
1 cup Honey Bunches of Oats Cereal
1 container (6 oz.) lemon nonfat yogurt
- 1/2 cup mixed fresh berries (blueberries, raspberries and strawberries
- Measure cereal into medium serving bowl.
- Top with the yogurt and berries.
- Serve immediately.
Tips and Suggestions
Special Extra: For added sweetness, sprinkle with 1/4 cup raisins.
