Happy Wordless Wednesday is a great day to post a picture that “speaks” for itself, no words needed! I blog-hop all day long looking at great pics & blogs, finding new friends! How about you? I sign up at my buddies below & then from then on WHO KNOWS!

DSC07074This is our bridge we ride over our River (Fox) to get to the bike trail & our bike trail is below unfortunately under water.  To the right are different establishments such as Pal Joey’s a fabulous Italian restaurant noted for their fabulous pizza.  In the summer they usually have bands outside playing while you’re eating.  See the closed green umbrellas.   Another establishment more towards the right of the picture is a place called the Rendezvous, and it also has eating outside in the summer, but for now that is under water also!  That’s our beautiful downtown Batavia, which much of our highlights is underwater, but we’ve drained it out & dried it up before we’ll do it again!

looks so peaceful and such a pretty setting

If you put on the video you’ll see it’s anything, but peaceful. Once a still river is now crashing against the walls. Water has overflowed onto the bike trails (sidewalks), and has devoured them. The Pictures may look peaceful, but some pictures can be deceiving.

It’s funny how where you live looks eerily like where I live! I just passed the river today on my way to pole and it’s ridiculously high o.O Almost up to the benches that line the walking path! Mother Nature really needs to cut it out with the rain or we’ll ALL be flooded soon.

Wow, that’s crazy! Glad you’re safe!

I think you have a plumbing problem. There must be a broken pipe somewhere.

Hurricanes used to come through and give us a good flooding in any number of ways when I lived down south. It sounds like you love where you live and that’s nice. 🙂

My dad use to take us here on the weekends when we were little (Pottawatomie Park). It was the only vacation we actually had, but it was great. He always said some day when he retires he wanted to move out here, and well Cancer took my dad before that could happen, so I came out here for him, and yes I do love it. As he would say, “I wanna go where I can’t hear the toilets flushing next door”. Houses are so close in the city. Do I love it out here? HELL YES!

That’s a lot of water! 🙂 Great shots, Marie! 🙂

My Becca… you and my daughter must have the same vision. Read my reply to Tricia. Not so peaceful. When the water goes down I’m going to take pics again so you’ll see real peace! In fact, come back tomorrow and I’ll show you peaceful from last summer. Thanks anyway girlfriend!

It sure is a bad year, looks a lot like what we are experiencing. I hope it is staying away from your house. our yard is still mostly frozen so all that water is being very naughty here. thanks again for mentioning my link-up! Love ya girl-friend 🙂 Faythe @GMT~

I’ve been following CNN and TWC watching all of the flooding, I hope the water recedes soon!
