In Batavia where I live we had our “Loyalty Day Parade”.  Unfortunately I could not stay because it was quite crowded and no where to sit, but let me tell you about it.  The theme this year is The VFW Tree of Life, dedicated to various branches of the military. The VFW and its Ladies Auxiliary and Men’s Auxiliary support all military members and their families.   Now is it a coincidence that they had it on Cinco de Mayo Day?   For that day  there was a victory, a glorious moment for Mexican patriots, which at the time helped to develop a needed sense of national unity, and is the cause for the historical date’s celebration.

So our Author, Carole P. Roman is celebrating Cinco de Mayo by sharing her first book in her new series of children’s books called If You Were Me and Lived In Mexico.

“If You Were Me and Lived in …Mexico-A Child’s Introduction to Cultures Around the World” is the first entry in an exciting new children’s series that focuses on learning and appreciating the many cultures that make up our small planet. Perfect for children from Pre-K to age 8, this book is a groundbreaking new experience in elementary education. Interesting facts and colorful illustrations help children realize that although the world is large, people all over the globe are basically the same.

To celebrate Cinco de Mayo, Carole P. Roman is giving away not only her book, but the card game UNO, the board game of Monopoly in Spanish and a Globe ball!

¡Esto es realmente fabuloso! Que te diviertas celebrando y tener cuidado amigos!
