So our theme this week was picked by Mark, from Chronicles from the Man Cave find songs about “Moving Forward”. Any songs that have to do with moving forward in one’s life.  So one I thought of was this.  It became my theme song right after I got divorced.  In fact, my oldest daughter bought me this album for Christmas with her first check from her first job!  Too cute. I was so proud of her!

Gwen Guthrie – Ain’t Nothing Going On But The Rent

And also there was one other song I connected with at the same time.. right before my X-left… Come on now I know you know this one…
Then there was a time when I worked Chicago downtown, and it was just the opposite, but the song still reminded me of my man when I moved on after a bad marriage.

AND THEN TRYING TO MOVE ON THERE WAS ALWAYS THIS IN THE BACK OF MY MIND WHEN I STARTED DATING AGAIN…

And then after all the work, schooling, and more work he walked into my life, and I have been happy ever since, and when I hear this song although it sings “She believes in me” I change it to He. Yes, I moved on to a much better life, a happier life.

Great story you’ve shared with us of your journey on “moving forward” and I for one am happy that your story has a happy ever after ending. Love your song selections! I hope Steve is gonna be okay. I guess he didn’t get the memo that disco moves can be a little embarrassing at times.

It was tons of fun dancing with you today, my friend. Keep up the recovery and don’t over do yourself. XOXO!

I’m here..I made it..LoL… I can see you see life through song. It is funny how certain songs just create a feeling that can be quite personal even more than the songs artist/writers ever intended. Thanks for hosting this musical party!

I love Kenny Rogers and I don’t care who knows!!! Haha. saw him in concert when I was a little girl, so his songs bring back great memories. I actually sing Morning Train in my head when I used to take the bus to work. Great songs this week! Glad you are back rocking with us.
