Well, guess what I found out!  Naila-Moon had a birthday yesterday and I also found out she’s a treky!  So Naila this song is for you HAPPY BIRTHDAY FROM ALL OF US. So our theme this week is songs in the key of your life.  So think back on key moments of your life, think of songs that associated with key events and time period – the “soundtrack” of your life if you will.  The first one that comes to mind is the first dance hubby & I ever danced to, which became our song, and it’s by the Righteous Brothers, “Unchained Melody”.

My Dad & Mom’s song that was always close to my heart, and that song is “Misty” by Johnny Mathis.
Years later when I became a mama & my babies came along I’d rock them to sleep singing, “Hush a bye”! It’s a song from the Jazz Singer/Danny Thomas, but it worked every time to rock them to sleep. , and the only other song that was meaningful in my life was the first solo I sang in Dave’s band “Perfect Chaos”, and that song was by Stevie Nicks & Tom Petty. I sang it with none other, but my David… “Stop draggin’ my heart around”!
WELL THAT’S IT!  TOO ALL MY FRIENDS OUT THERE IN BLOGLAND – WHO LUVS YA BABY!!!  NOW HOP AWAY & SEE HOW MANY MORE TUNES YOU CAN FIND TO ROCK THE HOUSE! THANKS FOR ROCKIN’ OUT WITH US! OKAY I CAN’T TAKE IT JUST ONE MORE THAT I USE TO SING, AND LOVED TO DANCE TOO… BOOGIE OOOGIE OOGIE
SORRY, I JUST COULDN’T HELP MYSELF… LET’S BOOGIE!!!! 🙂 LOVE YOU ALL LET’S DANCE~! ROCK THE HOUSE!!!

I don’t think I’ll get tired of hearing Unchained Melody. ever.
Oh drat….couldn’t hear that awesome tune with Nicks and Petty. I’ll have to look it up myself later. Wish I could say that I had sung with a band before……but not sure how I’d fit them all in the shower. ha!

Thanks for the heads up on Naila-Moon’s birthday. Love “Misty” haven’t heard that in ages and the other oldies too. Great picks Dolly. You have 2 more than I do. Smile. Have a great week!

Great songs for great memories! I’ll be linking up tomorrow. I am still a bit tired from the very fast trip that I took, so I will work on my post then.

I agree with Rorybore, I never tire of hearing Unchained Melody. The Righteous Brothers have such beautiful voices. Boogie Oogie Oogie took me down memory lane. What a great way to start the week with this fabulous dance song from the 70s. You truly are the Queen of Music, my friend!

Good memories here! Thank you for sharing them, and for my time in the spotlight!
I will be hopping around over the next couple days.

I couldn’t get the Petty/Nicks video to load (it says ‘video not available’).
I do like the selections you chose, and I was just thinking of Johnny Mathis out of the blue yesterday!

I was introduced to Unchained Melody when it became popular after being used in Ghost. It is a great song.
