This week’s THEME  is  a “British Invasion”!  Does anyone remember Herman’s Hermits?  How about their big hit…
“I’m Henry the Eighth I am”

Okay, that was fun let’s see if I can get another… Oh yes, do you remember Petula Clark in “Downtown”?

I thought it would be cool if we watched the very first show of the Beatles on “The Ed Sullivan Show”

and just one more… Steppen Wolf “Magic Carpet Ride”! I saw these guys not that long ago, and they sound the same. Can you believe it!

British invasion is a great theme, but I’d already posted by the time I learned your theme. I may not have British, but I definitely have the invasion part right. I don’t believe Steppin Wolf sounded the same. Three Dog Night’s voices had changed dramatically when I heard them.

Actually the Brits really have some great singers. I’m glad we had the ‘invasion’ so to speak. You have picked some of the best, too.

I actually saw Herman’s Hermits live a few years ago. They opened for the Monkees!

LOVE “Magic Carpet Ride”! I did not know Petula Clark was British. Happy Music Monday!

Brilliant they bring back memories of my school love them all 😉

Have a tanfastic week Marie I’m just off downtown…boom boom!

For some crazy reason, I did not get the linky code via email. Did you send it out? Oh well..I knew I would be able to lift it off your blog, which I did first thing this morning. Hee-Hee! It looks like we were thinking the same thing with Hermits Hermit, eh? I love all of your oldies! They sure do bring back the memories. Nice rockin’ the house with you this morning, girl!

Those are all stellar choices, Marie! I remember the first two from later remakes – it’s nice to see their ‘origins’. 🙂 Love all your choices! Great to be dancing along with you again! 😉

Burn Last Night with Hand On Heart because I Need Your Love

Great picks for the theme! I love Magic Carpet Ride. It reminds me of long road trips in my college days. I shared Ellie Gulding today. She’s British too. I didn’t even realize I was working in the theme this week. lol

I love Petula Clark and Steppenwolf.:)

I knew Downtown; used to sing along whenever I hear it on the radio long ago. But i didn’t know the name of the singer until now. Happy to learn that.

It’s great to join MMMM again. Oh, Girlfriend! I was traveling and then when I was about to return I had passport issues; got stuck for another month. But it’s good to be back. Thanks for the welcome down at my nook.

    I love downtown!
You were rocking the BI girl!

Sorry I’m late. Been so crazy here at home and still going!
    Happy weekend!

Okay, okay, I’m late but I made it. Is Steppenwolf British? Anyway I loved your picks. Whatever happened to Dusty Springfield I used to always hear about her. This is so much fun…I’m rockin’ with girl. Hope you had a great week!

Thanks for the lovely comment!
