The Battle for Darracia

 by Michael Phillip Cash

Published by Red Feather Publishing in the U.S.

ISBN 149357244X

At the beginning of the story it tells of V’sair a half-breed Prince for his father was King Drakko of Darracia who had traveled to Planta as a young man, and married the first woman he met because he didn’t want to marry his betrothed to defy his tribe. Instead he took as his wife the daughter of his grandfather’s enemy.  That started things out nicely, didn’t it?   This Sci Fi story tells how they looked, and lived.

The story starts out where an elderly navigator teaches the young prince his lessons of math, and although fully knowledgeable Prince V’Sair is struggling with his identity, and must harness the power of the elusive Fireblade, the secret to a warrior’s heart, in order to overcome his uncle Staf Nuen’s lust for supremacy.  He struggles to win the trust of his father, and yet will the energy of the Elements guide the young prince to his true destiny or will Staf Nuen conquer Darracia?

Schism means a split or division between strongly opposed sections or parties, caused by differences in opinion or belief.

Isn’t that what goes on between the democrats and republicans? I say let’s send them all to Darracia, and let them fight it out.  Sorry I had to throw that in.

Now where was I?  Oh yes, as I read this story it became more of a place that I could go to, and forget about reality, and hide within the realm of the author’s fantasy.  The author had a way to pull you in with emotional thoughts, the excitement, the terror, the pulling of ones heart strings, but yet pulling out a heartwarming scene, and still keep you on the edge of your seat.   At times they were a bit complex, but as you read on you were back in a comfort zone author’s diabolical way of explaining a scene.

I highly recommend this story if you like sci fi, fast energy, complex of life’s own turmoil, and yet still satisfying to one reading a story, but I will tell you this you will want more when you’re through.   Mr. Cash I commend you on your story.  I didn’t think I was going to read the whole thing, and after the first chapter you had me.

If you have something you need to get off your mind, and want to relax in a different realm then I highly recommend this book.  This book was highly entertaining in a sense that you could actually feel like you were watching a movie.  The author definitely has a way with words to hold your interest, and I hated to put the book down when I had to stop for a moment for the real world’s chores.  Many a time I thought oh this might happen next or that was going to happen next, and I was always wrong.  What a vivid imagination of a different universe, and yet masterful of the powers that be between the realms that transport you into another world.  Good battles evil as they takeover of Darracia and the young Prince becomes a warrior with feeling from within, and yet more to still be told.

I just read that a couple of weeks ago! Since it’s fast paced and not too long, I was able to read it after the little ones went to bed. Most of my reading these days is children’s books, so it was a nice change. I think he wrote something in a different genre too, but I prefer sci-fi or fantasy.

Oh yes, me too! Other types of books just put me to sleep. I’m not really a book person, but these are very cool. He’s got another coming up that maybe I’ll read too being as this one was so good. Thanks for stopping by, and don’t forget to click on my links in my side bar. Thanks!

I think I am going to get this for my Kindle. It sounds very intriguing.

You know I have both, and I much prefer my Kindle believe it or not. I read at my desk, and if it’s a boring page I read some e-mail.. when that gets boring I go back to my book. One day I didn’t read my email at all that’s when they were fighting. ~snicker-snicker~

I love reading. It is a great way for me to escape from a hectic life. This book looks like a perfect book for me
