This week’s theme is the 60’s & 70’s music suggested by Naila-Moon our honorary -conductor sitting in for Cathy Kennedy! 🙂

Let’s see what do I have in my bag of tricks for those years!  hmmmmm

How about a little “Three dog Night” in “Mama told me not to come”!

Now, the Staple Singers came out with I’ll take you there in 1972, and Respect yourself. I can’t think of another song I’d rather listen to right now. They’ll stick in your mine all week! This video is from 1990. So, any of you gals remember a very soulful man… the Rev. Al Green in Let’s Stay Together 1972.

and in 1970 The Moments came out with “I found love on a two way street”, one of my favorite songs of that era..
and then DISCO happens and in 1975 the Bee Gees to the world by storm with Night Fever, Staying Alive, and JIVE TALKIN’

REMEMBER… WE ARE ONE!!! NOW LET’S HOP!!! I LOVE YOU ALL… HUGS… animated gifs photo: Guitarwithmusicalnotesfloatingup.gifDon’t forget to follow everyone! Now let’s ROCK!

Fun picks. I especially love the first song; however, Al Green is cool enough to post twice. He sings almost as well as the president. Thanks for not putting me in the spot light yourself. rocks!

Hey I like Al Green too but you do know you posted “Let’s Stay Together” song twice right? Hahahahha. Better go delete one. Love and know all these songs and they make me feel old. Marie, do you realize we’re coming up on Thanksgiving 2014? Time is flying by. Wow….anywhoo, thanks for the virtual dance. You rocked the house as always girlfriend. Keep the music playing and turn it up loud!

Oh my goodness, thanks for letting me know girlfriend. I’ve fixed it, and as you see this song is another favorite of mine at a younger age. The age of romance and dancing slow… woo hoo!!! Remember when!???

These were all cool songs! As for the Bee Gees, I didn’t listen to that one. Their songs always seem to play in a loop through my head and it would be days before I could go on to another song!

I’ll never forget the time that Andy Gibb hurt himself somehow and was at the hospital’s emergency room that I was working at (I was kitchen help). All the girls, nurses, business staff, housekeeping, and the other women in the food department were all going by the emergency department to get a look at him. I thought they were silly. I must have been the only female employee that did not try to get into the emergency department.

I like all these they bring back some fond memories especially Mama Told Me Not To Come

Have a retrotastic week …..And…It’s wise not to do anything I would 🙂

The Bee Gees were so quiet. I loved them when I was a kid. My mom loves Three Dog Night and that was contagious too. I’ve never seen a video of them singing until now! Very cool. 🙂

Oh yes – Jive Talking!!! what a treat – I can remember dancing around the living with my child hood BFF to that song. All of these songs bring back great memories because I can remember my mom, or friends of hers always playing them at gatherings.

I love Al Green, Let’s Stay Together, great!

What a great selection of songs. I love the music of the sixties and seventies!

wow girl you know how to throw a dance party. Loving the songs I’m dancing like a maniac.

You do know how to party don’t you Dolly!
    Very good line up!
    Thanks for rocking.
I”m late visiting everyone, but it’s been a trying week.

    Hope you are doing well!
