Well, this week’s theme is “Mother’s Day tunes (songs that have the word Mom, Ma, Mother in it and/or a tune that reminds you of your Mom”!   Well, here’s what I have found so far. A lovely tune by the Willis Family, “Momma”! . My Mom loved to play the accordian, and if you ask anyone in the family what was the tune you remember her by it’s this one. The St. Louis Blues. She played it with the right hand only and just pushed anywhere with the left. She was such a card, but she did play very well.

Okay, how about a little Three Dog Night in “Mama told me not to come” and Pink Floyd in “Mother”
and last, but not least… How about a little Disney, “Mama knows best”!

LOVE YOU ALL… HUGS… AND REMEMBER YOU HAVE A FRIEND IN ME! animated gifs photo: Guitarwithmusicalnotesfloatingup.gifDon’t forget to follow everyone! Now let’s ROCK & Really

Hooray for adding ‘Mama knows best!” Every playlist can use a little Disney (and that song is so funny!) I really like Pink Floyd’s Mother as well <3

  2.

These are so really awesome mother songs indeed. I have not heard Pink Floyd “Mother” in so long. Thanks so much for sharing.

  3.

My most favorite mommy song would be by Boyz II Men, A Song For Mama.

  4.

I enjoyed your choices Marie I remember buying Mama Told Me Not To Come on a single when it came out even though I am only 21 🙂

You have some great music choices here! My dad listened to Pink Floyd when I was younger, so that song brings back a lot of memories for me.

  9.

I LOVE Louis Armstrong!! It was good to see him on your list. He’s someone I forget to listen to very often.

  10.

Wow, bringing back a lot of memories. I had a friend in HS who absolutely loved Pink Floyd, althoug I was never really a fan of his music.

I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day, Marie. Your first vid Momma the lyrics are so touching. All of your songs are new-to-me, except for Three Dog Night, Mama Told Me To Not Come. Great tribute to moms through music! Thanks for the share. It’s always such fun to dance with you at the start of the week. Have a tunetastic week!

What an awesome playlist! I’ve heard of the Willis Family but I’d never heard them sing before. And def any song with Mother’s Knows Best is always a good one…LOL!

Pink Floyd’s Mother – now that is a unique choice.
You guys have been doing this almost five years now. Congratulations!

Wow! 245th week. Congratulations! I really like the Willis family’s music. Their show is pretty good too.

Oh man! Some Three Dog Night up in this list! My father raised me on the rock of the late 60’s and early 70’s, and TDN was one of his favorite groups. Thanks for reminding me of this song; it makes me want to go listen to some more TDN and some CCR.

  21.

I love “Mother Knows Best”! It reminds me so much of my mother in all the wrong ways, lol.

  22.

I am a music buff! I always have to have some playing in the background! Thanks for such an ecclectic mix for me to listen to!

  23.

Tangled – Mother Knows Best – now that’s a song I totally liked. It makes me want to watch it again, actually, haha!
