I don’t think we’d be talking about The Wizard Of Oz today if Margaret Hamilton hadn’t been so good as The Wicked Witch of the West. She was downright scary. Mom, who saw it when it first came out with her brother Jack (she was 7, he almost 5), said he got so terrified he ran out of the theater screaming. That’s a great character.
