iHOLA! ……….. Visit New Places and Make New Friends!  With Pete the Pilot and Panchito!  WOW!
Published by  PoliglotKidz Press
ISBN 978-0-9911324-0-9 Soft Cover Edition

At the request of the author, Judy Martialay I received said paperback, but larger than usual paperback; it was also sent to me at no charge for my honest opinion.

Synopsis:

It’s books like these I enjoy the most. Maybe I’m a kid at heart, and at the same time thriving for more education no matter how old I get, and in this day and age it’s a good thing to learn a second language as you go out in the world, and what better language to start with than Spanish.  So let’s get down to the fun stuff.  May I also add here first that there’s a audio version at:  http://polyglotkidz.com …

This book is for the teachings of children who want to learn.  Possible age range 6-10, and their parents whether they know Spanish or not.  The purpose for the book is to ease into the learning of Spanish and how fun it could actually be. With the audio version parents and children could follow along in making it super simple by hearing how the word is pronounced and you can start, stop as many times as you like until you got it… is that cool or what!!!!  It also contains advice for parents on the “Parents Page”, on how to use the book as well as links to interesting articles on language learning for children.  There’s even a downloadable game to play as a review when you finish the book.

Talk about making homeschooling can give parents and children an experience in language learning which can be followed up with long-term language programs designed for homeschool use when they become much older.  They’ve got a step up on the game already!

MY THOUGHTS and OPINION

As you all know I have four children and eleven grand-children and one great grandson.  I know what a crew,  huh?  Well, I worry about their education and what they get at school, but this book is something parents can teach them at home and it’s something fun and to even make a game out of it.  Children get to meet Pete the Pilot , who takes them on an imaginary trip to Mexico.  During the trip, they learn some basic Spanish.  Their are so many Spanish speaking children at my grandchildren’s school… heck, it was that way when my children were growing up and they would come home speaking some Spanish phrases and I was amazed… and answered back… WHAT???  Children bring their Spanish back home with them to practice with friends and family in the activities section of this book.  In the culture corner, they learn more about life in Mexico and have more opportunities to practice Spanish.  Finally, they follow simple directions in the craft section to make a traditional Mexican mask…. FUNNNNNN!!!!!!

¡HOLA! Let’s Learn Spanish: Visit New Places and Make New Friends Kindle Edition

This book was also highly entertaining as well as educational.  The author definitely has a way with words to hold your interest, and I hated to put the book down when I had to stop for a moment for the real world’s chores.

The pictures in the book only added to the indebtedness of the subject.  Nothing elaborate to take away from the book itself. They were a perfect addition.  Christmas would be a great way to open up a new world for your child or relative/friend. Stocking stuffer? Definitely. Birthday present? Of course. Just because you care? Most assuredly. This holiday season pick up a copy of  HOLA “Let’s Learn Spanish”, and give it to Santa. He knows a lot of people, and children that could use a break from the real world, and put a smile on everyone’s face with fun and learning.

SOLD AT:
The book is now available in print for $15.22 and Kindle for $7.99 on Amazon, and in print on B&N online.

  1.

I guess I should learn some Spanish that is more than what I can order down at our local Mexican restaurant. I usually will speak French to them. It’s fun.

  2.

I make an ‘oopsie’ – For some dumb reason I thought today was Thursday, when, in fact, it is Friday. I put the wrong word in for today.

Thanks for the lovely comment!
