When Buying a New or Used Car, having information is worth it’s weight in gold!

When using any online car buying tips service that claims to be the very best remember this: There are NO GUARANTEES! I cannot stress the importance of doing your own homework. HELLO! NO CHEATING EITHER because then you’re only cheating yourself! No online car service can guarantee you the lowest price! NONE! Only YOU can do that, and HOW? YOU ASK! Also, by having all your information in order, and using your computer instead of your car to search for the best deal. The tips you find on-line can be phenomenal if you search! Use GOOGLE! I found that’s the quickest way! Recently my husband and I bought a 2013 Altima, Nissan and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we even did our research together. Oh, and don’t forget when you go in that dealership to ask about a particular car ask for a “CAR FAX”! This will tell you if that vehicle was in an accident before, and it has tons of info on it.
I hope you are able to save time and money using Car Buying Help Online, as well as the many other resources the Internet has to offer Car shoppers. There are many people like yourself that just want to make sure they are getting a good deal on a new or used car, and a fair price for the trade in, and not somebody else’s headache (*see first paragraph)! If you do your research, put your best deal on the table, stand firm, and let the seller know that you want to buy on your terms, you should remove most of the stress that car buyers dread so much. Plus, you should be able to spend less time at the Dealer with those full blown car salesman that can talk a mile a minute and say nothing because when you walk in that door you’ll already have the ammunition to fire back at him. It’s also just as easy to walk out that door if you feel like you’re being scammed. Woo Hoo Good for you!!!
The Truth about Car Salespeople and Dealers
Now, because of their tainted history, new and used car salespeople have been painted with a broad brush as being scam artists. Thanks to the Internet many dealers have changed the way they do business because of this. Profits on new cars have gone down over the years, and the power of online reviews has caused them to rethink how they treat the process of selling a new car. If you do your homework, you should already know what to pay for a new car.
Here are some tips when dealing with a car salesperson and Finance rep:
Have your notes and paperwork with you at all times.
Don’t lie to the salesperson – It makes you no better then them.
Do not show emotion – Negotiate from strength based on your research and notes.
Be professional – do not lose your cool.
Be prepared to walk out – it’s your money not theirs.
DO NOT talk monthly payment, talk selling price!
Bring a third party – this can help create a buffer zone.
Read your sales contract carefully – do not sign until every cost is clear. It’s their time, but it’s your money!
It is the negotiating process that determines how much money you are giving away, especially in the finance office when the real profit grabbing takes place. Be ready for them! You have your notes in your hand, the information in your head (if you did your homework), so smile pretty you have sooooo got this!!! I’m so proud of you & you’ll be proud of yourself! So, it’s time to walk in that door and sit down to haggle. Now also….. LADIES, do I have your attention! These salesman will grab your brain because he thinks you don’t have one. What do women know about a accelerator or how many cylinders a car has, and why we should know this? I mean… well, heck Mr. all I know is where to put the key and turn it on and when I go to a gas station I have to put gas in the car right and CHANGE A TIRE??? WHO ME??? No, I might break a nail!!! Pointing to a 4-way what’s this used for honey??? Oh I know, breaking away ice from the windshield….. RIGHT??? WRONG!!! Ladies, stand up and unite! Tell this character those days are over! Us ladies no more about a car these days then her husband does, right??? And why you ask??? CUZ WE DID OUR HOMEWORK & because we want to save money!!! Plus, if there’s a coupon out there when buying a car, you know we have one in our purse!!! GOOD LUCK!
This is a 2008 Dodge Caravan that we bought a few years ago, and believe me we did our homework for this one for a long time, and we got everything we wanted and needed for this car. When I brought it home I went to Walmart and bought seat covers to say the least especially when you have 11 grandchildren. Need I say more! The salesman I had was good, but I was a step ahead of him all the way and why???? Yes, because I did my homework! I cannot impress upon you anymore than I have already how really important it is!!!

Were you satisfied with your last vehicle purchase? Would you have done anything different & if so what would that have been?

Cars.com is our favorite site to go to when we look for a new car. My son will probably be shopping there in a few months to look for a new pickup for himself.
Very important to take notes when car shopping so you don’t lose track of your search history!
Hate dealing with car salesman but thankfully i met one cool one.
This actually comes at a perfect time for me since my mom and I are currently saving up money to buy ourselves a used car! We’re down to one car for a 3 person household and it’s just not working. Because we are two woman who don’t know much about cars we are a little hesitant to go to those used car places so this website can help prepare us when the time does come. Thanks so much for sharing this great resource!
Thanks for all the information. Car buying is very stressful but this article helps quite a bit. I visited the cars.com website and it seems pretty easy to navigate. I will refer to it in the future when I am in need of a new car. You are right on how us ladies re treated by car dealerships. No wonder we feel intimidated. Thanks for sharing this info!!
Cars.com is a great resource. We shopped using cars.com when we were looking for a new vehicle 2 yrs ago. It’s a great resource with great information I recommended it too. Thanks for the article i’ll b sure to share with friends.
Carmax.com has always worked for me. You know already what you’re going to pay for the car right way. 9 times our of 10 they aren’t really pushy either sometime you’ll get the one guy that is down your throat, but it isn’t as bad as other places.
Thanks to all who have stopped by and left comments too!
