Scale of Justice     You have made up your mind to buy a new car or a used one.  Now  what are you going to do first?  Well the first thing you need to do is your homework because if you’re looking for a used car then you sure don’t want to get a lemon now do you?   You see finding that so called “dream car” could be the biggest migraine you ever had if you don’t!   It’s tidiest work if you let it, but all you have to do is get on line and let those dainty fingers of yours do the walking as they say!  There are so many different resources competing about what you need to look for when shopping for a new car or used car, and I think the first think you need to find out is what is the “Lemon Law” for your state!  That’s right I said the “Lemon Law”!
Nearly all State Lemon Law Statutes provide lemon law rights similar to the Federal Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act which makes breach of warranty a violation of federal law. All States have enacted their own Warranty Acts and many States have enacted specific Statutes that pertain to Automobile Warranties. If your car is not considered a “lemon” in your State, you do have other recourse. Think your Car is a Lemon? Read your State’s lemon law below to see how your State defines a Lemon, and whether your car and its repair history qualify.   So, okay I got you started on your research.  Your welcome.
The next thing you should do in finding a good car is performing the right research. You can’t make that so-called “right” purchase without knowing the facts about the make, model and price of your car.  Now I’ve been all Over the years, I have found that is a great resource to learning about your potential purchase. is a leading online destination that helps car shoppers and owners navigate every turn of car ownership. A pioneer in automotive classifieds, the company has evolved into one of the largest digital automotive platforms, connecting consumers with local dealers across the country anytime, anywhere. Through trusted expert content, on-the-lot mobile app features, millions of new and used vehicle listings, a comprehensive set of research tools and the largest database of consumer reviews in the industry, helps shoppers buy, sell and service their vehicles.  Now come on, what more can you ask for?  This surely isn’t the 1940’s with no internet and no resources to look up is it??????
Now if you’re a first-time buyer your research will help you get the best car at the best price & the car salesman will no you did your homework.   Another important tip is to not stick with one dealer. Though dealers can stock huge selections at different prices, it doesn’t mean their prices are industry competitive, so because of this visiting other dealers and researching similar cars you are interested will get you a baseline price for the vehicle. Visiting other dealers will give you an understanding of what you should be paying, and therefore get you the best price.  Looking at various dealers is increasingly important if you are shopping for a used car. An important factor of used cars is their number of miles. This number has a huge impact on the wear and tear of the car along with the price. Guessing the price of a car based on the miles it has will not give you accurate information, and will most likely result in overspending on your part.  So, visiting other dealers and looking at competing prices is especially important for used cars. Doing this will result in your car being the right price, and it will show the dealer or seller you know what you are talking about.  As mentioned above, it is important to show the person selling the car that you are educated.  This is yet another reason why your research is so valuable. Buying a car can be tricky, and people selling cars can take advantage of you very easily, which is why it’s important to show the seller that you know what you’re talking about. Your research helps you learn the true value and worth of the cars you are shopping for. It can be used as support to the seller to help you negotiate the right price. Doing research on a potential purchase results in information that will help you get a fair price from the dealership or seller.

Make sure you sort out your car insurance too before you take ownership of the car. Just like when you buy a property, you must have insurance in place as soon as you’ve become the legal owner – even if you’re not driving it just yet this is because if anything happens to it, it’s your responsibility.  You might be taking extra care of your brand new car, but what if on your way home you stop for a red light & the guy behind you doesn’t stop and you’re rear-ended?  OUCH!  Don’t forget it’s  illegal to drive on public roads without insurance anyway.  Come on, we all know that, so let’s make sure it’s insured before you pick up that beauty you just bought!   You can ask the dealer if the car comes with any insurance.  You may be covered for a week, but if not you’ll need to arrange insurance before driving the car home anyway.  So always check before you pick up your car.  Bear in mind that premiums can be pricey if you’re buying new model, which is why it’s important to check on that insurance to see if you can afford the insurance before paying for that deposit.

When Buying a New or Used Car, having information is worth it’s weight in gold!

When using any online car buying tips service that claims to be the very best remember this:  There are NO GUARANTEES!  I cannot stress the importance of doing your own homework.  HELLO!  NO CHEATING EITHER because then you’re only cheating yourself!   No online car service can guarantee you the lowest price!  NONE!  Only YOU can do that, and HOW?  YOU ASK!    Also, by having all your information in order, and using your computer instead of your car to search for the best deal.   The tips you find on-line can be phenomenal if you search!  Use GOOGLE!  I found that’s the quickest way!  Recently my husband and I bought a 2013 Altima, Nissan and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and we even did our research together.  Oh, and don’t forget when you go in that dealership to ask about a particular car ask for a “CAR FAX”!  This will tell you if that vehicle was in an accident before, and it has tons of info on it.

I hope you are able to save time and money using Car Buying Help Online, as well as the many other resources the Internet has to offer Car shoppers. There are many people like yourself that just want to make sure they are getting a good deal on a new or used car, and a fair price for the trade in, and not somebody else’s headache (*see first paragraph)!  If you do your research, put your best deal on the table, stand firm, and let the seller know that you want to buy on your terms, you should remove most of the stress that car buyers dread so much. Plus, you should be able to spend less time at the Dealer with those full blown car salesman that can talk a mile a minute and say nothing because when you walk in that door you’ll already have the ammunition to fire back at him.  It’s also just as easy to walk out that door if you feel like you’re being scammed.  Woo Hoo  Good for you!!!

The Truth about Car Salespeople and Dealers

Now, because of their tainted history, new and used car salespeople have been painted with a broad brush as being scam artists. Thanks to the Internet many dealers have changed the way they do business because of this.  Profits on new cars have gone down over the years, and the power of online reviews has caused them to rethink how they treat the process of selling a new car. If you do your homework, you should already know what to pay for a new car.

Here are some tips when dealing with a car salesperson and Finance rep:

Have your notes and paperwork with you at all times.
Don’t lie to the salesperson – It makes you no better then them.
Do not show emotion – Negotiate from strength based on your research and notes.
Be professional – do not lose your cool.
Be prepared to walk out – it’s your money not theirs.
DO NOT talk monthly payment, talk selling price!
Bring a third party – this can help create a buffer zone.
Read your sales contract carefully – do not sign until every cost is clear.  It’s their time, but it’s your money!

It is the negotiating process that determines how much money you are giving away, especially in the finance office when the real profit grabbing takes place.  Be ready for them!  You have your notes in your hand, the information in your head (if you did your homework), so smile pretty you have sooooo got this!!!   I’m so proud of you & you’ll be proud of yourself!  So, it’s time to walk in that door and sit down to haggle.  Now also…..  LADIES, do I have your attention!  These salesman will grab your brain because he thinks you don’t have one.  What do women know about a accelerator or how many cylinders a car has, and why we should know this?  I mean… well, heck Mr. all I know is where to put the key and turn it on and when I go to a gas station I have to put gas in the car right and CHANGE A TIRE??? WHO ME???  No, I might break a nail!!!  Pointing to a 4-way what’s this used for honey???  Oh I know, breaking away ice from the windshield…..  RIGHT???   WRONG!!!  Ladies, stand up and unite!  Tell this character those days are over!   Us ladies no more about a car these days then her husband does, right???  And why you ask???  CUZ WE DID OUR HOMEWORK & because we want to save money!!!  Plus, if there’s a coupon out there when buying a car,  you know we have one in our purse!!!  GOOD LUCK!

This is a 2008 Dodge Caravan that we bought a few years ago, and believe me we did our homework for this one for a long time, and we got everything we wanted and needed for this car.  When I brought it home I went to Walmart and bought seat covers to say the least especially when you have 11 grandchildren.  Need I say more!  The salesman I had was good, but I was a step ahead of him all the way and why????  Yes, because I did my homework!  I cannot impress upon you anymore than I have already how really important it is!!!

So the scoop is do as much research as you can on-line and also has a great deal of information on it’s site.  Hunt around they have many pages to search through because when it comes to researching and finding the car that’s right for you and your needs with including your family is a great place to start.   Their tips can only help you doing your research. is a leading online destination that helps car shoppers and owners navigate every turn of car ownership. Purchasing a car doesn’t have to complicated and cause you a first class headache or an argument in the family!  Drama is one thing you don’t need at a time like this!  Right?  Right!
