XmasDolly’s Wordless Wednesday!

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY?

OH YES, OVER THE HUMP AS THEY SAY! HAHAHA  Image result for PICTURE OF A CAMEL

There she is on the right!!! HI GRAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU AND ON THE left is my Mama….

Check it out! This is my gramma’s sewing machine, which was handed down to my Aunt Mitzi and now me! Totally cool! Every part is there except for the belt. 🙁 It disintegrated! LIKE POOF! Going to try & google it and find one. Anyway being as we’re talking about my gramma… here she is!!! Isn’t she just adorable? I miss her so much! She was born in Palermo, Sicily and she was married at the age of 14 yrs old to my Grandpa. She’s beautiful & man could she cook. I thought I’d share her recipe for homemade soup with you. Hope you like it! ENJOY!

So, I promised you a recipe, and a recipe you shall have. This is yummy stuff too. Now get your gramma’s pot (hehehe yours will do), and fill it half way with water. Put in however many chicken legs you would like, and a beef soup bone. Sometimes I use beef neckbones those are good too.  Then we’ll add 2 cans of chicken broth & 2 cans of stewed tomatoes (Italian style preferred), and then 2 chicken bullion & 2 beef.   Okay, veggies next.

Here’s a video to help you out! It’s an old video, but it will help ya!!! YEP! HALLOWEEN is around the corner so here’s my first decorations of the year for our holidays! WOO HOO Happy Almost Halloween! BIG HUGS!

Depending how much you want to make a bag of carrots, stalk of celery, I put parsnips as you can see, but that’s not necessary if you don’t like it, 2 cloves of garlic, and now our spices.   Garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, onion powder/chips (all is to taste), and boil away… once it starts to boil lower the heat to about “2”, and then stir now & then.  When you’re ready for the small soup noodles of course add your salt begin to boil, and pour in.  Remember to stir more often then you would if they were just boiling in water because they’ll stick to the bottom.  When they’re done…. “SOUP’S ON”!

  1. That camel is funny although that shade of lipstick is very vivid that would definitely give me the hump LOL

So when will i get a delivery of some of your fabulous soup Marie LOL

Have a souptastic week and don’t do anything I would (of course) 🙂

    1. Thanks Alex, and yes she did stay married til’ the very end, and yes story goes their marriage was arranged, but the best arrangement ever! They were very much in love and had 6 children. Cool huh? She was the best ever and so was Grandpa. Gotta google that belt yet, but when I find it everyone will know. ~hehehehe~

  2. Your sewing machine is so neat! You should be able to find a belt for it.

The soup sounds delicious! When it gets cooler here, perhaps the hubby would like some. We only have soup for dinner maybe once or twice a year.

  3. Marie,

How nice that your grandma’s sewing machine got passed down to you! It’s a beauty, too. 🙂 The soup looks really yummy but oh, my is it chilly in your neck of the woods. It’s a lot warmer here still. By the end of next week things will shift a little and I’m looking forward to the cooler temps, too. Now your grandma’s soup is something I’d like to try and I do enjoy soups or chili on cold fall/winter days. You know I’ve never bought a parsnip before? Thanks for sharing. I’m gonna save a link back to this so I can jot it down later. Have a great day and I’m sorry for the late visit. Have a blessed day, my friend! 😉
