The fall songs are all beautiful, as are the leaves, but I couldn’t find a link to share the hop on my blog.

As for kneeling during the national anthem, that is the way military people recognize the flag respectfully when one has fallen. I certainly believe that many have fallen in this country and am proud to live in a place where people have the right to protest. So, I strongly disagree with you, recognize the rights of the protesters, and would kneel right along with them. To prevent people from protesting is the most unAmerican thing I can imagine, and I SUPPORT the players who protest!

Joyce, when the 4M’s has a theme it’s only, but a suggestion. Our main goal here is to have fun and get your hearts a rockin’ & enjoy music no matter what kind. You don’t have to have the theme. Post what your heart desires & have fun & if you’d like one song from our theme fine & if you don’t want to that’s fine & if you want just one of our theme that’s cool too. OUR THEME IS ONLY A SUGGESTION TO HAVE FUN!!!! Now Joyce, my friend, first of all I agree with you to a certain extent regarding the kneeling and everyone has their own way of doing things and thinking and that is our GOD GIVEN RIGHT!!! Not politically!!! As far as the kneeling is concerned definitely I agree with you as far as kneeling when there is a fallen hero we are respecting!!! BUT that’s not what they’re doing! They’re doing a salute to the “FLAG”, not a fallen hero. If there was a fallen hero I would be on my knees in prayer, but if they’re singing a salute to our flag believe me I would be on two feet saluting or with my hand over my heart as a true American Citizen should do. Again…. to each his own. People are protesting so other American citizens would stand up and salute our flag such as the pledge allegiance. To a fallen hero on both knees in prayer. Do you see where I’m coming from???

Hey, we both used Edgar Winter and the Mama & the Papas! Great minds! I love the Edgar Winter Group ballad. So pretty. And the Mamas & the Papas make me smile: I so love their music: it transports me back in time.
I never heard Eric Clapton’s version of Autumn Leaves. Thanks for posting that. I really like it a lot! Clapton is another one who is supremely talented, I think.

And it’s always great to hear Louis Armstrong’s What a Wonderful World, no matter the season!

Great post. Have a good week Marie.

Ditto my friend!!! Yes, great minds think alike! Love Eric Clapton’s version also. Then again I totally love Eric Clapton too! ~hehehe~ Louie Armstrong has been an ol’ time favorite ever since Hello Dolly being as my nickname is Dolly!!! 🙂

I so love “What a wonderful world” (should have thought of that song”. I think of California Dreaming more as a winter song but I guess that’s what comes from living in upstate New York. P.S. I can’t find the linky code to share the linkup on my blog, either. Tried two different browsers.

  4.

I’m thinking The Sounds of Silence, but that might not have anything to do with autumn.
Next week a freebie? I’ll join you then.
And I like that! No fans left. That will certainly send a message.

    Marie,

    Before this morning, Edger Winter’s “Autumn” was new-to-me which I spied first on Michele’s blog and now here. I’m definitely adding this track to my playlist. It’s really a nice song. I think I prefer Eric Clapton’s cover of “Autumn Leaves” over Nat King Cole. “California Dreamin'” is one song that always comes to mind with the thoughts of autumn. Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me, lady! Have a dancetastic week! {{{kisses}}}

  6.

I think today we’re going to have a lot of overlap between playlists, but that’s okay. You came up with a couple of gems, especially Clapton singing “Autumn Leaves.” I went with an instrumental there…

  7.

Beautiful songs. Thanks for the great theme and for the dance.

  8.

    Hey Marie!

You did a real smash up job on finding some great Autumn tunes! Thank you also for adding the point of not putting your name on the linky if you don’t have music in your post. There’s also one or two who add their names who don’t even bother to visit the other participants. How rude is that? Is there a way we can shorten the length of time the linky is open to new links to say 48 hours instead of a week. We will still be able to click on the links, but can only add until x time on Monday. That may help cut down on the ‘cheaters’.

This was a tough challenge this week, but tough ones are good for stretching the imagination. It also looks like I may have my dates mixed up for the upcoming freebie/cars&trucks but it’s all good. I’ll keep it rockin’ – you know I will 😉

    Wonderful songs, Clapton, Armstrong…

Thanks for the lovely comment!
