You chose some great songs that brought back a walk down memory lane. I especially liked the Fifth Dimensions Beautiful Balloon, watching the Grateful Dead change over the years, and of course Convoy was fun. I hadn’t heard that one in ages. Then again, one has to wonder why anyone who was dead would be grateful. 😉
Great songs, especially CONVOY. My husband sent me this to listen to a couple minutes ago, it’s a new song, but funny in my personal opinion the link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sW_6OJZHhqg&feature=em-share_video_user No, we don’t condone a real bomb by the way.
Marie,
Somehow I limited my thinking on this theme to cars and trucks originally. I guess in my quest to get ahead the broader scope of the theme was a mere oversight. Anywho, I’m digging your mewsic! “Up and Away” in my beautiful balloon is a great oldie. While I love seeing hot aired balloons in the sky, I don’t think I’d ever go up in one because I’m a big scaredy-Cathy! I haven’t heard “Convoy” in years. I remember the popularity of CB radios in the 70s. My daddy had one and I remember what fun it was to talk to people I didn’t know using names other than their own. I wish I could remember my handle. I’m sure whatever it was it was something cheesy. 🙂 Thanks for sharing the dance floor with me this morning, my friend. Have a tunetastic week!
Convoy – I had that album as a kid. And I didn’t even like country music.
Now I’m going to have the balloon song in my head all day…
Great songs. I remember Convoy as a wee child. I think it might have been on of the first songs on the radio that I liked. Thanks for playing that.
Thanks for hosting and have a wonderful Monday.
I had the record album with “Up Up and Away” (dating myself) and I loved Convoy “back then”. Now, it sounds so dated but still fun. I never heard of the Dionne Warwick song and enjoyed it. This was such a fun theme, why don’t we do it again one day?
Actually we did this one not that long ago because it is so fun, but we shall do it again my friend just for you! BIG HUGS…
Hey Marie,
Great songs! I never heard that Dionne Warwick song. It’s wonderful! Thanks for including that one. And the 5th Dimension’s Up, Up and Away brings back some memories for sure. I always liked that song.
Loved seeing the Grateful Dead through the years. I never really got into the Dead but after watching the montage I can definitely see the appeal.
Convoy: Wow! That’s a good one. Did you Dad like being a trucker? My uncle was one too. That’s quite a lifestyle for sure. I’ve been in my share of truck-stops back when I was young! You too? Did he ever take you on a trip?
And I remember that Teddy Bear song. That’s an old one too.
Nicely done Marie! Great 4M post! This was a really fun theme. And there’s almost a limitless number of songs about vehicles!

Ahh Doll, you always have the good music!
Thanks for rocking out and holding court.
Have a blessed week!
you rocked the the house this week.
Nice choices yet again, Marie! Some of those oldies were totally new to me! 🙂 Thanks for sharing – and for the dance! 🙂
