It’s funny that here you are starting with the Lullaby of Broadway. I hadn’t heard that song in ages, and then just last night, we saw 42nd Street on stage. I enjoyed the reprieve!

    Hi Marie,
This was fun! You sure got the party started with a little Boogie Woogie magic. Love the nostalgia. I never saw the movie “Pitch Perfect” but after seeing the clip I think I might want to. I love Rebel Wilson and I enjoy seeing Brittany Snow act as well. I’d also like to see “Buck Privates”. I could use a good old-fashioned comedy right now!
Hope you have a great week,

    Michele at Angels Bark

Great tunes this week, Marie! Made me want to get up and boogie! I know we’re getting close to 4th of July, but these really made me think of Veteran’s Day. I’m going to have to make notes for a future post 😉 Have a great week!

That’s a lot of birthdays and one busy week! Doesn’t it make you nuts when your whole week is filled like that? Hope this week is better.

    Marie,

You really put a spin on things with an old classic. I loved listening to the covers with the Andrew Sisters bringing things up to the rear, as well as Christina’s throwback song style, “Candyman”! You put me in a oogie woogie boogie mood on the dance floor, dear! Have a pAwesome week!

This was fun – I was first introduced to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy through Bette Midler (years ago now!), and then discovered the Andrews Sisters through her cover of their song. Now, I get to see a couple of modern takes, retro style. I love modern singers like Kate Perry doing these old classics, 1940’s style. There’s just something about the style of those years. I’m happy I didn’t have to live through them but I love experiencing them through my modern eyes.

  7.

Surprised you didn’t include some boogie-woogie dance…! Great songs!

  8.

    cool tunes!!

  9.

You’ve had a busy week and next week will be busy too. Happy Birthday to all the birthday folks.

I love Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy. I loved most music in that era.

Have a fabulous day, Marie. Big hug. ♥

Wow! I’m loving all your choices! Especially since even with favorite artists, I hadn’t heard most of these before! Nicely done! 🙂 Hope you’re having a fabulous weekend – thanks for the dance! 🙂
