Marie, You have chosen a wonderful setlist for today. Perfect for the theme! Hope you have a great holiday and are able to sit back and relax – enjoy the day!

  2.

No one said patriotism like George M. Cohan; no one sings about patriotism like Lee Greenwood (I was privileged to hear him in concert one time), and no, I will Never Forget the day the towers came down. You have a rockin’ 4th, Marie – and the rest of the week, too.

    •

I totally agree my friend! TOTALLY! I would love to see them both in concert, but Lee Greenwood will have to do, but I can watch the movie again & again & again with Jimmy Cagney it’s a fun movie & my mom & I would watch old movies every Friday night when I was little & Jimmy Cagney was one of her favorites (well musicals is her favorite… was..). Never forget 9-11 always keep it in your heart my friend and my fellow American.. I’ll gladly stand up next to you…. hugs!

Funny you would include the speech from Independence Day!

    Marie,

I just read your comment on Michelle’s blog. I’m sorry to hear that Dave lost his job again. I know that’s very frustrating for y’all. What kind of work does he do? Saying prayers that he finds a new, better job soon!! I like the speech from the movie “Independence Day” which always sends goosebumps up my arm pulling at my patriotic heartstrings. That’s a fun movie, too. I’d love to see the second one!

Your mewsic selections really rock! “Yankee Doodle Dandy” is great fun and I forgot about Martina McBride’s “Independence Day” which is an excellent song for today’s theme and like I said your mewsic really rocks the dance floor. Thanks for making boogie in my chair. Have a safe & fun Independence Day, my friend!

Thank you Cat! Yes, laid off again! BUMMER! What they wanted him to do was done & the lift truck they were supposed to certify him on got Busted Up!!! So si a nar rah as they say 🙁 Yes, it is sooooo depressed & all the prayers y’all can muster up would be fantastically GREAT!!! You’re always there when I need you! You are a most fantastically FRIEND!! Yes, the speech really moved me & I never forgot it. I almost wish our own President would repeat it, but I’m sure one of these dorks would have something to say about it. & NOTHING SAYS HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY LIKE JAMES CAGNEY to me! What a multi-talented actor he was. Have a happy fourth too you & yours! HUGS

  5.

I love your choices and I was just thinking that as a family movie night we needed to watch Independence Day this week! I love that speech.

  6.

She was almost a firecracker baby, but her birthday is tomorrow. Please surprise her by stopping by & wishing her a big sweet happy birthday!!! THANK YOU!!!!

  7.

Happy 4th! I’m more of a rocknroll cat than a country cat. Peace out.

  8.

my set of tunes is up and ready ti listen to.

  9.

That is a great speech from Independence Day. We usually watch that on the 4th of July. 🙂 Have a great 4th!

  10.

I love that scene from “Yankee Doodle Dandy.” I even included it in my list. James Cagney was a fine actor and a hell of a song-and-dance man. Not to mention a tough little Irishman…

  11.

    Hey Marie,
Happy 4th! What a wonderful set of songs! I loved them. Especially Martina McBride’s! I never heard that song before. It’s fabulous and she has such a nice voice. You know me, i’m mostly a rock chick but I love me some Toby Keith~
It was cool to see the scenes from Independence Day. When I first got together with my ex we started some traditions and it was his desire that no matter what else we did to celebrate the 4th of July, we had to include watching Independence Day on that day every year.
And what a neat surprise seeing James Cagney. Boy he was young back then! What year was that film from??
Excellent post Marie. I just came inside from watching the fireworks so this was a great post to come into…
Hope you had a fun celebration today.

Hi Marie, it was just brought to my attention (in a very unkind way) that I linked non-music posts here. Which apparently I did because I see them right there in the linky list. However, I only add links on your Wednesday link up so I am so confused how they are appearing here. I must have done it inadvertently and for that I apologize. I would delete the links, but it is not set up to allow me to do that. So to avoid any further confusion or nasty comments sent to me, could you please delete my two links from this link up. Again, I apologize, this was a mistake of some sort and I never intended to offend or upset anyone. Thanks so much for your understanding.

I don’t know who contacted you, but if it wasn’t ME then disregard anything that was said to you! I am head Conductor of “Monday’s Music Moves Me” and if anyone has a beef about any one or any thing they should contact “ME”! I publicly APOLOGIZE TO YOU and hope you accept my humble apology for such a thing. I would never do anything to anyone to make them feel bad in any way. If you made a mistake and that is the way you feel is one thing, but any mistake that was made was someone being rude to you in that I publicly apologize & hope I am forgiven. You can come back her any time you want. I love your post & with your cute lil’ body & fab clothing you look like your dancin’ away… which is too cool & that’s what we do here is boogie. Please share your outfits with us I’m sure we all would love to see the outfits we could be wearing when we want to shake our bootie! Again please accept my apology!
