Good songs all, but I have to say, the Grease flash mob is one of the best I’ve ever heard. Now I want so much to listen to Frankie Valli’s Grease…I’ve got an earworm now! Have a good week, Xmas Dolly.

Going old school with some of those!

    Marie,

Every time I hear Cher’s oldies I think about the Sonny & Cher TV show. I always liked watching it, didn’t you? I always thought Cher looked to have some Indian in her bloodline but after reading Wikipedia there doesn’t appear to be enough evidence to suggest she’s a half-bred as penned in her famous song. I’m sure her high-cheek bones, dark satin hair, and bronze skin played as selling points for when she released it. She’s a pretty woman but I always felt she was a bit over-rated in the industry. Flash mobs are always such fun and this one is no exception. Have a boogietastic week, dear friend!

Beautiful songs. I enjoyed all of them. Thanks for sharing and thanks for hosting.

Gee, wouldn’t it have been terrible if, after the flash mob and everything, she said “no”?

I always feel sad when I see Barry Gibb and remember he’s the last one left in that family. Of course, thanks to the production company sticking their banner across his face, I didn’t see him much :(. Olivia’s gorgeous, still, and still sounds good.

For the large part the electric piano plays in “Don’t Let Me Down,” I wish they had given Billy Preston more screen time. He was a big part of the whole “Let It Be” album, for that matter; there were rumors that they wanted to ask him to be the fifth Beatle.

The other videos were good. Great set!

  6.

I enjoyed your songs,I hope you enjoy the ones I used this week.

  7.

How do you Mend a Broken Heart. Love that one the best.

Have a fabulous day and week, Marie. Big hug. ♥

Oh how fun! Your post grabbed me right off the bat with Cher…and a medley to boot! I LOVE Cher. I love her voice. And her outspoken nature makes her all the more appealing. I just wish she would’ve realized how gorgeous she was way back when and stayed away from the plastic surgeons! She looked 10,000 times better before she had any work done.
I read Cathy’s comment about thinking that Cher didn’t have American Indian heritage but she did. Her father was Armenian and her mother was a mix of European and Cherokee so she was far from having A LOT of Cherokee in her but for sure I think the genetics came out in her appearance.
Half Breed & Gypsy’s Tramps & Thieves is two of my favorites of hers. I would love to see her in concert. I also adore her as an actress. She has fabulous acting talent. One of my favorite movies stars Cher: “Suspect”. Have you ever seen it? It’s with Cher and Dennis Quaid. It’s one of those movies that I can watch over and over and never get tired of it (My other favorite films are Fatal Attraction, A Perfect Murder, and several of the big blockbuster Vietnam War movies, like Platoon, Saving Private Ryan, etc).

And Wow, you actually found a REAL Beatles video on YouTube! Those are hard to come by. At least that’s been my experience. Great performance. so glad you included it here! Thanks for that!

The Barry Gibb/Olivia Newton John duet was nice. That poor family, the Gibbs. They sure had some misfortunes with all the deaths.

I love a flash-mob. They were both cool. I got a kick out of the man who seemed to be stuck in the middle of the staircase… And the proposal: that was sweet. What a guy! I’m glad she said yes and I hope he’s a good husband…

    Have a great week,

    Michele at Angels Bark

Great songs. I hadn’t heard the Bruno Mars and I really liked it.

Thanks for the lovely comment!
