Oh my there are some good ones in there this week. Well there always are, but the oldies are some of the best music.

Have a fabulous day and week filled with wonderful music. Love you, Marie. ♥

  2.

Happy Monday. I see you’ve posted some great old songs.

  3.

The movie The Shadow was that long ago? I am feeling old…

    Marie,

I liked Elvis more years ago than I do in recent years but it’s hard to not fall in love with him everytime his classics are played. ‘Crying in the Chapel’ is an introduction to my ears and I really like it. Thanks! I wasn’t born until 1961 as you might remember but the King and many of the of same groups from that era were going strong well into the 60s. The Supremes I listened to quite a bit as my auntie and her first cousin played a lot. I loved watching them dance! No doubt, they had me boogieing with them. 🙂 I barely remember the 1994 film, “The Shadow”. I’d really like to watch it but it’s not available on Netflix. I’ll have to remember to keep an eye out for it. Thanks for reminding me. Our honorary co-host *wink-wink*, The Shadow, came up with an excellent theme! Have a boogietastic week, my friend!

I was never a die-hard Elvis fan. By the time I got into music he was into his movie phase. I was always a little left of center in my music. When Elvis was king, I was more of an Everly Borthers fan. When the Beatles hit it big, I was all about the Beach Boys and the Rolling Stones, even the Animals. I loved some of the early Motown groups and their original names.

Great songs. I enjoyed them all. Those were the days when music was just fun. Thanks for hosting and I hope that you have a wonderful week.

  7.

Great selection of 60s tunes that had us rockin’ in our chair. We’re not particularly Elvis fans but shared some tribute songs.

  8.

I enjoyed your music selection Dolly. I love my oldies!
    Happy Monday!

Such great choices. The 60’s is the era I reached teenager hood in and I so love the Supremes. Donovan! And the early 60’s represented by the Marvelettes. And, can you imagine my delight when someone gave me a newspaper from the day I was born (this, several years ago) and I saw all the radio shows listed. Yes, I’m sure the Shadow knows because that show ran on radio for some 20 years. (I’m not familiar with the movie). Thank you for a trip (mostly) down Memory Lane.

Crying in the Chapel is one I have never heard before.

Good set! The nice thing about this theme is that Elvis’s career covers most of the ’50’s, ’60’s, and ’70’s, so you have lots of leeway…

I knew you would have some awesome choices, Marie! You ROCKED the house!! 🙂 And I love that you added The Shadow stuff – one of the guys I used to work with way back when was a huge Shadow fan, so he’d quote stuff from the show all the time. 🙂 Thanks for the dance, my friend! Enjoy the rest of your weekend! 🙂

Thanks for the lovely comment!
