Well, Marie.. you ARE OLD! hee hee. So, I’ll give you a break for the little ‘cheat’ with the singular video of top songs of the year. I hope you had a grand time with your stroll down memory lane! This has been a fun theme and quite interesting to see what was popular when everyone was in the First Grade.

    Marie,

You aren’t old at all, just fine fine like a bottle of wine and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t drink? I could compare you to cheese, you know as it ages it gets better. 🙂 I wasn’t born until 1961 but your song features played frequently throughout my grade school years and then as I entered junior high, my school would always have a 50s day during homecoming week. That was always so much fun! I guess kids today have an 80s day instead of the 50s, huh? Thanks for boogieing with me, my friend. You brought the house down with these classic tunes! Have a songsational week, dearie!

I’m not sure what was popular then. America’s Horse With No Name? Some Rolling Stone song I’m sure.

  4.

Love that 1956 retrospective! “The Poor People of Paris” was #1 the day I was born. So many good ones here: Elvis, obviously, but Patti Page, Gogi Grant, Dean Martin, Perry Como? Wow. Sometimes I think I should have been born in the ’40’s. Do you remember “Picnic,” that scene with William Holden and Kim Novak (from Little Village in Chicago!) dancing to “Moonglow”? (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oivcG31tDY) About the hottest thing I’ve seen…

The music feels like yesterday…well…in a way…Granny wasn’t born yet, but she knows the music and she likes it. Elvis sure was one of her idols, what a manPawkisses for a Happy Week ahead

  6.

A wonderful blast from the past today. I’ve enjoyed hearing song I remember in my youth.

Have a fabulous day, honey. Love and hugs. ♥

  7.

Tunes form 1986? ya got me by 2 years. thanks for making me feel like a youngun!

  8.

So many good songs in the compilation, including one of my Mom’s favorites (Que Sera, Sera) and mine (Sixteen Tons). When I contrast them to my list (1958) I can already see some of the changes in music coming.

  9.

Super cool songs. Thanks for sharing them.

  10.

    I really like the playlist

Dinosaur age! You are a hoot!! 🙂 My dad used to play Elvis songs on his reel-to-reel (and sing along off-key, of course!) so of course Blue Suede Shoes is a good memory one. 😉 Thanks for the dance, Marie! Did you have any pet dinosaurs? Bwahahahaha!

Thanks for the lovely comment!
