You found the original Babes in Toyland on You Tube – that was a movie that appeared every holiday season on New York City television when I was growing up. I’ll have to remember to watch it on a nice, snowy day (which is not today!) John Denver’s song I haven’t heard in a long time. A Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Xmas Dolly!

  2.

LOVE the John Denver tune. It brings to life the wonder of childhood. Have a blessed Thanksgiving and a glorious Christmas.

  3.

I love all the wonderful music each Monday. It’s been a wonderful start of the week.

Have a fabulous day and week, honey. Love and hugs. ♥

Laurel and Hardy were comedic geniuses. Ollie was from Harlem, Georgia, and every year they have Oliver Hardy days. I used The Chad Mitchell Trio’s “The Marvelous Toy” which is becoming one of my faves.

“It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” has special meaning for me. I sang it as I was vacuuming up broken ornaments and tinsel from when the tree that my future stepfather was positive wouldn’t fall, did. Broke the tension, anyway…

Thank you for letting me be November’s conductor. It was an honor. We both picked “Marvelous Toy.” I wasn’t aware of all the versions of that song that exist. Babes in Toyland was TW’s fave movie as a child. Happy Thanksgiving.

I’m so confused, Xmas Dolly. I’m reading your 12-1 post but it has all the comments from last week. Is my computer hallucinating? I don’t know where I am commenting and so I’ll just go for it. I’m liking Blake Shlton more and more – very nice song, and it was nice hearing the songs from Alabama, also. So, hey, hope I’m putting this comment in the right place!

Great selections for the start of the Christmas season! I don’t see the linky, so my entry is here:

    Music Monday for 12.02.2019

    Have a great week!

  9.

You may keep on putting messages. I’m trying to fix the problem. Sorry!!!

  10.

I have always been a fan of Alabama. Joseph and Mary’s Boy is probably my favorite here because it speaks to the reason for the celebration. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Have a blessed holiday season.

The Linky’s throwing an exception on me, too, so here’s my URL:

I don’t remember “Mrs. Santa Claus,” but isn’t Angela Lansbury a great entertainer? I even liked her in “The Manchurian Candidate” and “Gaslight,” and she wasn’t exactly likable in either of those… Great songs today!

Can you believe it’s almost Christmas? These years are spinning way too fast.

    Marie,

I’m late to boogie with you, but being on vacation I have my mind on other things right now. We haven’t had much chance to do much of anything other than get some online shopping done. lol That’s okay, we’re taking it easy and loving every minute together. ‘You Make Me Feel Like Christmas’ is a great song! DH got me Gwen Christmas album that has this tune and it gets regular playtime throughout the season but it never gets tiring to my ears. Have a very Merry Christmas, darling friend!

Thanks for the lovely comment!
