We’d like to get more folks on the dance floor. Our party has dwindled & I’m sure that’s largely due to bloggers coming and going in Blogosphere, but I’m going to set this challenge to ALL my readers PLEASE bring a friend & tell a friend to come on over and join our party & let’s all have the greatest boogie party ever!  Have you asked anyone lately to attend the 4M party? We’d love to fill the dance floor to capacity! If you haven’t done so, then let me challenge you to hook at least one new person to come boogie with the crew. It’ll be a blast!  WOO HOO!!!

LET’S get this TRAIN ROCKIN’!  We’re eager to greet you at the station & F-O-L-L-O-W   U too!  Just sign our linky & leave a cool comment & don’t forget to invite your musical friends too to have some musical fun with us!  Our “HONORARY CONDUCTOR” gets the PRIVILEGE of pickin’ THEME 4 the entire month!  EVERY OTHER WEEK is still a FREEBIE!  This week our Honorary Conductor is Mary from Jingle Jangle Jungle  & as it’s Roctober she would like us to choose a decade and build a playlist of rock songs from that period !  So COME ON NOW Y’ALL GET UP SHAKE THAT BOOTIE!  WOO HOO!!! TOTAL FUN!  COME ON NOW WHO’S DANCIN’ WITH ME HERE????  HEY, WHO’S OUT THERE CAN I HAVE THIS DANCE???  IT’S TIME TO ROCK THIS PLACE!  WOO HOO  ROCK ON!!!!  WOO HOO!  So I’ve decided to choose the decade “90’s”!  My first song is here’s  by TLC  I always loved Jason Waterfalls & for today this is needed for sure.  And when we have songs like this how can we not post them & Alannah Myles – Black Velvet (Official Video), Yeahhhhhh! So, what else do I have for you? How’s about…  Eric Clapton, “Tears in Heaven”.  Well, this song never seizes me from tears in my own eyes.  I love this song with all my heart because I almost feel Mr. Clapton wrote it for me & my little girl because she was born 4/09/77, and she passed in August 4th of that same year due to “Crib Death” a disease that no one knows the cause much less how to cure it.  My baby stopped breathing when she was laid down for a nap on this day & never woke up.  I realize he wrote it for his son due to his tragic death, but I think the two of them are now angels together… and my words is what I added to the tune.  “Little girl, little girl you’re the Angel of my world… little girl you’re the angel of my life… of my life.  Little Girl, little girl you’re the angel of my world.  Little Girl, you’re the Angel of my life.  I once had a little… little girl that was mine, but the angels came took her away, but I know some day darlin’ you wait and see the Lord will give you back to me!  Mr. Eric Clapton, thank you from the bottom of my heart.  Your song helped me very much you’ll never know, and now may I introduce… Mr. Eric Clapton in “Tears in Heaven”!    God bless you all, and now from one of God’s most precious angel’s Whitney Houston recorded this tune in 1992 for her new movie “The Body Guard”!  “I will always love you”!

Up next is Lionel Richie – Easy like Sunday morning 1996

Nice to see you still have room for the “oldies.” Good set!

  2.

You can never go wrong with Clapton. Whitney Houston had just an incredible vocal instrument and Lionel Richie was always easy on the ears. For me the 90’s was filled with our daughter’s new found love of country music and the artists that defined the new traditional sound. Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood, Vince Gill, Martina McBride, and others filled the house with their sounds. Have a blessed week.

That Clapton song…I did not realize it has special meaning for you. Hugs.

    Great set as always

    Marie,

The 90s don’t seem that long ago but that was 30-years ago. WOW, right? I like Lionel Ritchie! Thanks for sharing this dance with me, darlin’ friend. Have a boogietastic week! BTW, how’s the blog move coming?

  5.

Those were good tunes, some of our favs too.

Hi honey – How are you this wonderful Monday? All is well here. We’re home and doing well.

I love your play list. Whitney is my favorite of the lot. She had such a wonderful voice.

Awww on the walrus. So adorable. The pups sitting on their chargers made me laugh out loud.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week, Marie. Love you bunches. ♥

    Mines Up!

Great choices! I’ve always loved Black Velvet and Tears in Heaven is heartbreakingly beautiful.

  10.

I stopped listening to popular music radio in ’95, so I was kind of surprised that I recognized all but the first one. Good picks!

Such a great playlist here. Very nice, I enjoyed them all. Sorry I am so late. Thanks for hosting this great dance.

Always loved Black Velvet and Eric Clapton’s music. I remember when he lost his son. Such a dreadful tragedy. I saw Clapton live many times at the Royal Albert Hall in London during the early 90s. My brother, who is a guitarist, got me into his music and we used to go together. Great times!

So sorry about your little girl. Hugs xx

I am not a huge 90’s fan so I was surprised (and delighted) that I knew all the songs. “Waterfalls” I like mainly because of the Weird Al Yankovic parody, which is how I was introduced to it “Phony Calls” it’s called. Black Velvet is a song I love. Eric Clapton’s song is one I can hardly bear to listen to although I am a fan of his. I am so sorry about your little one’s death due to crib death. Nice playlist, after several 70’s playlists in a row.

OMG, I haven’t heard ‘Waterfalls’ in forever! Thanks for the memory jolt! Love the 90s music second only to the 80s. 😉 Excellent song list, Marie! Thanks so much for the dance! 🙂
