WORDLESS WEDNESDAY?

OH YES, OVER THE HUMP AS THEY SAY!  Image result for PICTURE OF A CAMEL

So it still being very warm outside, and so as far as a recipe this week I’m going to give you a recipe that my mother-in-law gave me back in the early 90’s, and I’ve been making it ever since.  We love it in our home & I hope you will too.  This week’s recipe is “Spinach Salad”.   I didn’t receive any comments about recipe Wednesday, so I guess I’ll just put some of my goodies up now & then.

 1 Bag of Spinach

1 Onion

LB. of bacon

1 can of water chestnuts

4 boiled eggs

1 cup of salad oil

2 tbs. of Worcester sauce

1/2 cup of sugar

1/3 cup of ketchup

1/2 cup of chopped onions

1/2 cup of yellow cider vinegar

salt & pepper to taste
Wash & drain the spinach.  While that’s draining fry up the bacon nice and crispy.  Chop your onion into small pieces & also quarter your hard boiled eggs.  Now we’ll make the dressing.  Get a small bowl & mix the rest of the ingredients together to make your dressing.Spinach leaves, chopped eggs & onions are to be put in a nice big bowl.  Crumble your crispy bacon into the bowl also, and then pour your salad dressing over it.  Chill for about 30 minutes.  Dinner is served!

Sorry, no picture of it, but here’s one just for fun!  Have a nice day!

Charlie says, “Have a nice day”! “WOOF”!!!

OH YES, OVER THE HUMP AS THEY SAY!  Image result for PICTURE OF A CAMEL

So it still being very warm outside maybe this is the wrong time for this recipe, but I posted this a while back and the cold weather is coming so I decided to share this Beef Stew recipe once again!  Enjoy!

My recipe for today is Beef Stew!  As you can see here are my ingredients below.  I guess the secret ingredient that I use is the beef bouillon cubes.  I bread my meat in flour & spices *garlic, seasoned salt & pepper, meat tenderizer.  Chop up my veggies & let it cook for an hour & simmer until dinner.  ENJOY!  Oh & the video you see below is the second half of my video & an old one at that!

Charlie says “HI”!!!

WORDLESS WEDNESDAY?

OH YES, OVER THE HUMP AS THEY SAY! HAHAHA  Image result for PICTURE OF A CAMEL

There she is on the right!!! HI GRAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOVE YOU AND ON THE left is my Mama….

Check it out! This is my gramma’s sewing machine, which was handed down to my Aunt Mitzi and now me! Totally cool! Every part is there except for the belt. 🙁 It disintegrated! LIKE POOF! Going to try & google it and find one. Anyway being as we’re talking about my gramma… here she is!!! Isn’t she just adorable? I miss her so much! She was born in Palermo, Sicily and she was married at the age of 14 yrs old to my Grandpa. She’s beautiful & man could she cook. I thought I’d share her recipe for homemade soup with you. Hope you like it! ENJOY!

So, I promised you a recipe, and a recipe you shall have. This is yummy stuff too. Now get your gramma’s pot (hehehe yours will do), and fill it half way with water. Put in however many chicken legs you would like, and a beef soup bone. Sometimes I use beef neckbones those are good too.  Then we’ll add 2 cans of chicken broth & 2 cans of stewed tomatoes (Italian style preferred), and then 2 chicken bullion & 2 beef.   Okay, veggies next.

Here’s a video to help you out! It’s an old video, but it will help ya!!! YEP! HALLOWEEN is around the corner so here’s my first decorations of the year for our holidays! WOO HOO Happy Almost Halloween! BIG HUGS!

Depending how much you want to make a bag of carrots, stalk of celery, I put parsnips as you can see, but that’s not necessary if you don’t like it, 2 cloves of garlic, and now our spices.   Garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, onion powder/chips (all is to taste), and boil away… once it starts to boil lower the heat to about “2”, and then stir now & then.  When you’re ready for the small soup noodles of course add your salt begin to boil, and pour in.  Remember to stir more often then you would if they were just boiling in water because they’ll stick to the bottom.  When they’re done…. “SOUP’S ON”!
